Interventional Radiology - Biopsies
Biopsies and Fine Needle Aspirations (FNA) are diagnostic procedures designed to collect tissue or cell samples for detailed analysis by a pathologist. A biopsy involves removing a small tissue sample, often using imaging guidance such as ultrasound to ensure precise targeting. FNAs, on the other hand, are minimally invasive procedures that use a thin needle to extract cells from an area of concern. These techniques are particularly effective for evaluating thyroid nodules, breast lumps, enlarged lymph nodes, or other superficial abnormalities.
