Computed Tomography (CT)
Computed Tomography, commonly known as CT, is an advanced imaging technique that uses multiple X-Ray images combined with computer processing to generate detailed cross-sectional visuals of the body’s internal structures. CT scans provide a higher level of detail than standard X-Rays, allowing for precise evaluation of bones, blood vessels, and soft tissues. In some instances, a contrast dye may be administered to enhance the clarity of the images.
The CT scanner is shaped like a doughnut, with a bed that moves through its center during the scan. You will need to remain still as the scanner captures the necessary images.
